Civil disobedience …
a poem about choosing hope no matter what the cost.
Kindness is a decision. Happiness is rebellion. In a world gone mad with cruelty, drunk on power and retribution - to not succumb is a calculated choice. I’ve been told it’s unrealistic, holding on so tightly to hope. The wolves are howling at the door give up, lie down - we all die eventually anyway, what’s the use in prolonging the inevitable. My friend Timothy said, do not obey in advance. I say, do not obey at all. Civil disobedience in due course. Love and human decency are worth fighting for - until our very last breath.
What does resistance look like to you? In a world that often rewards cruelty, how do you choose kindness, hope, or defiance? Drop it in the comments or join the chat. It’s like group therapy, but free and way less awkward.
